Some issues to note regarding puffing machinery and equipment
1. Puffed food machinery mainly uses corn and potatoes as raw materials to produce snacks.
2. Plant protein is used as raw material to produce textured protein food (plant-based meat); 3. Grains, legumes, or potatoes are used as raw materials to make staple foods. In addition to indirect heating expanders, various puffed foods are prepared using fine-grained expanders.
Before operating the puffing machinery, the head, core, and screw components should be removed. It is very important to thoroughly clean rice residue and oil on the core and screws, and then dry and reassemble them after cleaning. The mechanical equipment consists of a feeding system, extrusion system, heating system, transmission system, rotary cutting system, and control system. Materials are fed by the feeder, and the barrel is subjected to high temperature, high pressure, and high shear to expand the material, achieving desired quality requirements such as tissue state.

When blockage occurs in the spiral groove of the puffing machinery, do not stop the machine immediately. Stop feeding and let it run for a while until a burnt smell appears. This can prevent the nozzle and screw sleeve from locking. If the sprinkler and spiral sleeve cannot be removed, do not strike them forcefully; they can be detached from the body and placed in fire for a period of time to facilitate removal. After operation, stop feeding and let the machine idle for 1 minute, then shut down to discharge the material inside the machine. Remove the nozzle and spiral sleeve while hot, push out the spiral shaft, clean the residue inside the expander, clear the nozzle holes, and reuse.
After stopping the feed at the end of the puffing machine operation, let the machine idle for 1 minute to finish processing the material inside, then stop the machine. Next, remove the nozzle and spiral sleeve, rinse the screw shaft, take out any residue from the machine, and clean the nozzle holes for reuse. Note: Wear gloves during disassembly to prevent burns.
