How to maintain and care for food puffing machinery

The so-called food puffing machine is a device for processing puffed food. The food puffing machine has the characteristics of a wide range of raw materials, flexible configuration, simple operation, and a variety of product types. It is suitable for processing in many food production fields such as snack foods, ready-to-eat cereal foods, dairy products, and convenience foods. So what is the working principle of the food puffing machine?

Using the unequal-pitch non-standard screw system of a food extrusion machine, the material is rapidly filled while the gas inside is expelled. Under shear force, the material flows back, increasing the pressure within the chamber. As the screw rubs against the chamber, the material is thoroughly mixed, compressed, heated, bonded, and gelatinized, leading to structural changes. Mechanical energy is converted into thermal energy through friction within the chamber, turning the material into a fluid-like gel state. When the material is extruded to the outlet, the pressure instantly drops from high to normal, and the original structure is disrupted. The temperature rapidly decreases from high to normal, forming countless micro-pores inside. This causes moisture to quickly evaporate from the structural matrix. The material is then cut by a cutting device, cooled, and expanded into shape.

1. The series of food puffing machinery mainly consists of a feeding system, extrusion system, rotary cutting system, heating system, transmission system, lubrication system, and control system.

2. The feeding system, drive system, and rotary cutting system of the extruder all adopt variable frequency speed control, providing strong power and smooth operation.

(1) The box bearing should be lubricated with grease in a timely manner. After 500 hours of operation, the grease should be completely replaced. (Before the new machine runs, an appropriate amount of grease should be added, and after 200 hours of operation, the oil should be changed.) (2) Other bearing parts should be regularly lubricated with grease.

(3) During disassembly and assembly, avoid using hard objects or heavy hammers on vulnerable parts such as screws and screw sleeves. Do not place heavy objects or stand on the expansion chamber.

(4) The raw materials for extrusion should be cleaned, and strictly prevent metal and other foreign objects from entering the machine to avoid damaging parts.

(5) For food extrusion machinery, regularly check the quality of the extruder and pay attention to replacing vulnerable parts.

(6) Keep the area around the equipment clean.

(7) When the machine is shut down for a long time or when changing the puffing material, the material inside the puffing chamber should be thoroughly cleaned to prevent caking, mold, or cross-contamination between materials.

(8) Since the wear parts near the discharge port wear out relatively quickly, while those near the feed port wear less, when replacing wear parts, they should be replaced sequentially starting from the discharge end, and it is not advisable to replace multiple parts at once.
